Depression and anxiety can cause many different ticks or habits. When you notice anyone of these nervous habits, STOP! They may lead to mental health issues or weight gain.
- Nail biting
- Hair picking
- Toe tapping
- Self insulting
- Impulse shopping
- Emotional eating
- Caffeine abusing
The next few points of information can head off negative thought patterns:
- First, identify your negative feeling: it might have been nail biting or self insulting.
- Second, identify an opposite feeling: it might have been self-love or gratitude.
- Thirdly, act as if that’s how you’d be feeling: This might have caused me to think something like “I’m running really well today.” or “At least I got out of bed this morning to meet my personal trainer!”
